10 Rounds - Workout Review

One thing I have always been interested in trying is a good boxing workout. I've been a fan of the Rocky movie franchise since I was a kid, and those training montages always get my hyped to workout as hard as I can.
Even as I was starting my fitness journey, back in 2003, I would find a boxing workout sample, from Men's Fitness, and would try to replicate that as best as I could. The only problem was, I had NO IDEA what I was doing when it said to shadow box or hit the heavy bag.
Fast forward 17 years and I have found the workout plan that I have been waiting for since. Sure, I've done MMA inspired workout programs, but they were just inspired, and not setup like an actual training session. Until NOW!
Beachbody released a program called 10 Rounds, and it is exactly what I've wanted, and I can do it at home. I don't even need a heavy bag (though I have one).

The program was created by Joel Freeman, a super trainer with 20+ years in the fitness industry. Two of his passions in fitness are weight training and, you guessed it, BOXING. The basic design of the program is centered around shadow boxing and just learning proper form with your punches, and slowly building to combos, defensive movements, footwork and agility/conditioning.

There are 3 days of boxing training each week, and 2 days of strength training, but this isn't strength training like a body builder. This is training for functional movement, almost in a HIIT-like format. Workout length is 40 minutes or less. Trust me, they go by quickly. The workout also wasn't filmed on a soundstage, like most Beachbody workouts are. This was filmed on the road, in 6 different cities, and in the most public of places. From LA, Vegas, Dallas, Miami, Philly, and Brooklyn, this program shows that you can literally do it anywhere. How did I like it? As a coach, I was able to preview the workout 3 weeks prior to it being released to the public for VIP access. After 3 weeks, I knew this program was going to be one of my favorite programs that I have done. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to restart the program with my accountability group, and this time I took before pictures. I'll update this once I get my afters, but I can assure you they will be pretty solid.
